Your Spiritual Duty
“Pray for every political leader and representative, so that we would be able to live tranquil, undisturbed lives, as we worship the awe-inspiring God with pure hearts. It is pleasing to our Savior-God to pray for them. He longs for everyone to embrace his life and return to the full knowledge of the truth.”
– 1 Timothy 2:2-4 (TPT)
Devotional:
Many of us exercised our civic duty yesterday by participating in the presidential election. But now, we have another duty to exercise—our spiritual duty to pray.
Prayer is a powerful tool that connects us directly to God. It’s not just about asking for our needs but also about interceding for others, especially our leaders. By praying for those in authority, we invite God’s wisdom and guidance into their decisions, which can lead to peace and stability in our communities. This act of prayer is pleasing to God and aligns us with His desire for everyone to know His truth and embrace His life.
Prayer:
Dear God, thank You for the opportunity to participate in our civic duties. Now, we turn to You in prayer for our leaders and representatives. Grant them wisdom, integrity, and compassion as they make decisions that affect our lives. Help us to live peaceful and undisturbed lives, worshiping You with pure hearts. May Your truth and love be known to all. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
